We've been watching the Pacific and I keep seeing Chester Puller in the background ordering people around, getting ribbed by guys on Guadalcanal and keeping John Basilone from puking on his desk. Which made me wonder a bit more about him.
I knew he was a hard ass, and a war hero, just how big of a hero I truly didn't realize.
He's on the level with Audie Murphy if you guys were wondering. Chesty just happens to be the most decorated US Marine in history with FOUR Navy Crosses.
From what I can tell the Pacific is going to get a helluva lot more brutal and nasty.
