I think the 10th amendment rhetoric is going to bring things to a head very quickly.
Many states are tired of paying for non funded government bull crap and have passed resolutions saying the Federal govt can stay the hell out of their state's business.
I see 3 things happening: A supreme court case deciding on 10th amendment applicability, states calling for a Constitutional Convention or another civil war. But I don't seriously expect a civil war unless things get really really bad first.
